Forest Service to hold webinar on Wild and Scenic Rivers
South Lake Tahoe, Calif. – The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) is evaluating rivers that may be eligible for inclusion in the National Wild and Scenic River system and will hold a webinar on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. to explain the process. The LTBMU encourages public comment as part of the evaluation process, which is in response to objections raised during the LTBMU Land Management Plan revision.
The webinar will include a brief presentation of the overall evaluation process, the procedure used to inventory the rivers in the Lake Tahoe Basin, and the “outstanding remarkable values” that would be used to determine eligibility. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
