Lake Tahoe is no slouch when it comes to beautiful waterfalls in the Sierra.  Up and down the Sierra and throughout the Sierra National Parks there are some amazing waterfall features.  These short Day hike experiences near Lake Tahoe will not disappoint when looking for a great waterfall visit.

Alpine Falls – Fallen Leaf Lake  Popular Hike on the backside of Fallen Leaf Lake. Beautiful Cascade of water and easy access to get you up close and personal.

Eagle Falls – Emerald Bay

Located just off Hwy 89. Parking can sometimes be tough, but a beautiful waterfall that can be explored all the way down to the lake.

Horsetail Falls – Pyramid Creek – HWY 50 Twin Bridges

1.5 mile hike back into the waterfall but it can be seen from HWY 50. Part of the Desolation Wilderness Area, this day hike can be short and easy or you can take the challenge to climb to the top and experience some great lakes int he Desolation Wilderness area.  Wilderness Permits are required past boundary.

Grovers Hot Springs – Markleville CA

Short drive from South Lake Tahoe is Grovers Hot Spring State Park.  Spring visits bring huge waterfall action late summer opportunity to swim in the pools within the waterfall.  Waterfall hike is 1.5 miles fairly flat forest hike.
