The Mist Trail and Vernal Falls is one of the most popular trails in Yosemite National Park.  Accessed via Yosemite Valley and the John Muir Trail throngs of visitors visit the trail annually to catch a glimpse at one of the most prized sites  and experiences in the park.

A 1000 Foot Elevation gain from Curry Village to the Top of Vernal Falls in 1.5 mile hike.  The path is paved up to the Bridge then turns into traditional trail as it quickly ascends up the side of the canyon to the base of the waterfall.

Mist from the 330 foot plunge of water covers the rock and trail as you approach the falls and creates on of the most unique trail experiences in all of the Sierra.  Sublime view points are found all along the trail from the Bridge to the top of the water fall.

 

Best time to visit is Early Spring when the run off is at its peak. After reaching the top of Vernal Falls , before heading up to Nevada Falls, Visit  the Emerald pool located between the two falls. This is a great location to take a break before the next climb.
